HOT a finalist in work place awards

House of Travel has been named a finalist in the Extra Large Workplace (250+ employees) category of New Zealand’s Best Places to Work Awards, for the third consecutive year.

The recognition comes during a testing start to the year for the travel industry. When geopolitical conflict in the Middle East closed regional travel hubs earlier this year, HOT consultants worked around the clock to support hundreds of customers travelling or departing through affected routes, and many more in the months that have followed.

‘Our people leaned on each other, working long days and pulling together,’ says David Coombes, CEO of House of Travel.

Recognising the pressure consultants had been carrying, House of Travel leadership brought everyone together to thank and celebrate their dedication and achievements at its annual ‘Check In to the Future’ national conference and awards recently.

Anna Hay, chief people officer at House of Travel, says creating a great employee experience is an ongoing priority, where people feel connected, supported and empowered to do their best work.

As HOT approaches its 40th year in business, the company remains 100%  Kiwi owned and operated.

The 2026 Best Places to Work Awards ceremony will be held on 26 October at Cordis Hotel in Auckland.
