Pacific aficionado for Tourism Fiji NZ trade partnership role

James Leslie James Leslie

Tourism Fiji has appointed James Leslie as trade partnership manager, New Zealand, in its Auckland office.

Leslie starts in the role today, coming most recently from a position as the business development executive for Air Canada. His previous experience with Air New Zealand fostered his connection to the Pacific, and to Fiji in particular. Leslie brings with him strong relationships and a sound understanding of the New Zealand trade distribution.

His experience in stakeholder management, trade education, and working with trade on promoting product will be an asset to the Tourism Fiji team and supporting the goal of driving more Kiwi visitors to the destination.

‘James brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the tourism industry and an established passion for Fiji,’ says Sonya Lawson, Tourism Fiji regional director New Zealand.

‘At this time, it is increasingly important for Fiji to be engaged with the industry and our trade partners.’

She says Leslie will play an important role in strengthening Tourism Fiji’s robust trade activity, trade education, and its continued programme of campaigns and promotion.

Tourism Fiji has also acknowledged Tom Svensen, whom Leslie replaces, for his dedication and contribution to Fiji during his time at Tourism Fiji. Svensen left Tourism Fiji in February to take on a new role as sales manager NZ and Australia for South Seas Cruises.
