Senior appointment at House of Travel

Jan Cox Jan Cox

House of Travel is investing further in its bricks and mortar footprint to support continued growth, appointing Jan Cox as national business partnerships manager.

Bringing almost three decades of travel experience, Cox returns to the company she first joined out of travel school in Christchurch. She says that from the early days as a Hottie to today, the values founder Chris Paulsen built HoT on remain evident as the business has grown.

‘I’m approaching 30 years in the travel industry and have a fair few job titles and work experience under my wings, including 20 years at Air New Zealand and a maternity cover as national partnerships manager at Qantas,’ says Cox.

‘Heading into 2026 I weighed up what I valued most in a workplace – a business that backs its people and invests in their growth and HoT ticked those boxes.’

Jayne Alldred says Cox has a strong reputation in the industry and will work closely with business partnership managers, Kylie Rutland and Tracee Buckenham, to support owner operators and retail managers across the network.

‘Growth at HoT is not limited to organically opening new stores,’ says Alldred.

‘We demonstrated through the successful acquisition and rebrand of Pam Hardy’s Levin store that we have the appetite and the ability to bring established independent agencies into the fold in a way that works for everyone involved.’
