NZ Travel Brokers’ annual conference attracted 130 brokers and supplier partners when it was held in Hawke’s Bay recently.

Managing director Guy Flynn says the weekend was a perfect reminder of the strong connections those in the industry share.

‘Our conference theme, “Travel Brokers – the Essential Ingredient”, celebrated the vital role brokers play in the industry, and also highlighted that our supplier partners are an essential ingredient too, showing our gratitude during the supplier appreciation lunch.’

The conference was an opportunity to reconnect and to celebrate all that has been achieved over the past 12 months. It included an evening at Mission Estate for the gala dinner and awards.

Big award winners on the night were Angela Lester, who won Broker of the Year, and Red Dragonfly Travel, the Top Multi-Person Brand. NZTB welcomed many brokers into its High Achievers club, and also recognised Bill Tempelhoff for the work he is doing in the marketing realm.

NZTB expanded its supplier awards into Land & Services, Cruise Line, and Airline categories. Viking was awarded Cruise Line of the Year, with Steve Parker also recognised as Cruise Line Sales Rep of the Year. Air New Zealand won Airline of the Year, with Koby Jonas from Qantas taking out Airline Supplier Rep in a hotly contested category. Wide Eyed Tours won Land & Services Supplier of the Year, with Kate Imrie from Globus named Top Rep.
