‘The area feels different from the rest of the resort. Conceptually it is closer to a rooftop bar in New York atmosphere.’ That said, The Rocks is definitely in the Pacific – set on the beach with a view to ‘little Vomo’ island, a pool and cabanas and a covered, open air dining area. The Rocks is 800 metres from the main resort, an easy stroll, but there are also buses running between the two each day. The resort has a kid’s club which has not only the usual amenities (slides, outdoor areas, indoor play etc) but also a focus on activities such as making grass skirts for Fiji night, chocolate making and more.
Tim Tuiqali, guest experience manager, says the children have such a good time that parents ‘have to bring them back.’ For smaller children, ‘baby butlers’ can be employed by guests. This in turn means parents can relax at The Rocks. Vomo Island has 29 villas and four residences, with two new residences being constructed now.
