Vanuatu Tourism Office has launched its new, dedicated online training programme – Welkam Vanuatu.

The resource is now live and accessible to travel agents, wholesalers, and media in New Zealand as well as New Caledonia, North America and Europe.

To encourage NZ agents to complete the training programme during the month of April and May, they will go into the draw to win one of 30 tickets flying from Auckland or Christchurch to Vanuatu on Solomon Airlines.

The Welkam Vanuatu platform is designed to immerse trade partners in the natural elements, cultural heritage, and hospitality of the Vanuatu islands and its people.

It provides the tools, insights, plus market, aviation and cruise updates. The platform also features selling points needed to confidently promote the destination’s offerings.

‘The launch of Welkam Vanuatu marks a pivotal moment in our global marketing strategy,’ said Adela Issachar Aru, CEO of Vanuatu Tourism Office. ‘We know that knowledgeable travel partners are our most effective destination ambassadors. This platform is not just about training; it’s about sharing the spirit of Welkam – our warm welcome – and ensuring agents can articulate the adventure and authentic experiences that await visitors to Vanuatu.’

Participants advance through four distinct levels, each unlocking new content and exclusive rewards that get sent to agents. The journey starts from Nakato (the local hermit crab) and moves up through the TamTam (of high rank or chiefly status category).

Upon completion of the levels, global agents will be recognised as certified Vanuatu specialists, gaining access to exclusive rewards and continued updates.
