New apartment hotel for WLG

The new Sojourn Apartment Hotel, which has opened this month, provides a new level of service in the undersupplied Wellington Regional Hospital suburb of Newtown.

Wellington’s medical areas are experiencing an undersupply of quality accommodation to accommodate patients, families and healthcare professionals who travel long distances to get to the hospital.

Sojourn is positioned directly across the road from Wellington Regional Hospital and owner Mike Price understands the stress associated with hospital visits. He says his daughter spent a month in

intensive care in the Neonatal Clinic 18 years ago when she arrived prematurely at 30 weeks. ‘We travelled daily to the hospital from out of town, which was pretty stressful at the time. Now as a property investor, we are in a position to assist patients, their loved ones and those working at the hospital needing a local apartment hotel that is comfortable, familiar and serene.

‘It is already being welcomed by people who have had to travel to the city for surgery or other treatment.’

Sojourn Apartment Hotel has 43 fully furnished studios and affordable family apartments and is also catering for both leisure and business travellers. Services include 24-hour front desk, express check-in/out, daily housekeeping service, free high speed wifi, limited on-site parking and free on-site laundries.

It provides a chance for clients to discover Newtown, a quirky suburb of Wellington that clients may not be familiar with, with plenty of choice in terms of cafes and gourmet eateries, while being a five-minute drive from Wellington’s CBD.

Also nearby are Ronald McDonald House, the soon to be opened Children’s Hospital, Southern Cross Hospital, Wakefield Hospital and Heart Centre, Massey University, Government House, Basin Reserve Cricket Ground and more.

Agent incentive launched

Sojourn Apartment Hotel general manager Saurabh Doshi is keen to work with travel agents and has launched an incentive to encourage bookings.

Agents who book their clients into the hotel will go into a monthly draw to win a hamper and will also be in with a chance to win a grand prize of two nights accommodation at Sojourn in a Deluxe King Apartment, breakfast for two, dinner for two at Logan Brown and $500 towards flights if they are travelling from outside the Wellington region.

The hotel is also keen to get agents, brokers and domestic tour operators in for an early famil / site visit to see the property first hand.
