ETC relaunches to NZ agents

Evolution Travel Collective is relaunching in New Zealand and looking for a part-time business development manager to service the market.

ETC’s managing director and co-founder, Ingrid Berthelsen says that the company has been rebuilding both its team and the stable of products it represents since international borders re-opened.

‘Our immediate focus was on Australia but we have also seen more and more Kiwi agents keen to get training and support from some of the partner brands we represent.

‘Hence  we are now hiring for an New Zealand-based BDM again. As the borders opened after they did in Aussie we did see NZ business rebound a little slower but that’s certainly changed where we have seen strong growth from NZ agents, particularly with this European selling season and we are keen to actively promote and work with agents in NZ again,’ Berthelsen adds.

‘Our business looks quite different to what it did pre-Covid with a focus now on not only seeing agents face-to-face but also providing alternative ways to speak with agents including webinars, online training and even the old fashioned phone call.

‘We understand agents don’t always have the time for something face-to-face but a quick chat on the phone followed up by an email recap can make a world of difference to an agent who is trying to sell a product for the first time or perhaps the first time in many years. Working online also allows us to speak with more agents from all regions, more often ensuring everyone is getting the same attention – not just those in the major cities.’

Evolution will be re-starting its Kiwi presence with high profile brand Albatross Tours (European touring specialists -– small groups in a full size coach with longer stays) as well as a new product to the New Zealand market – Touropa (cost effective flexible coach touring worldwide).

‘We won’t be representing all of our brands in NZ at this stage but we hope to grow that over time.’
