Through a partnership with ServiceIQ, subsidised places are available on the New Zealand Certificate in Travel (corporate and retail) and Te Haeata – New Zealand Certificate in Business Events, helping consultants gain formal, industry-recognised qualifications.
TAANZ CEO Julie White also emphasises the new Experienced Consultant Award (ECA). Developed by industry and funded by TAANZ, the ECA is designed specifically for seasoned travel professionals – typically those with five-plus years in the industry – who have built deep, real-world expertise but don’t yet hold a formal NZQA qualification. Rather than requiring full traditional study, the ECA uses a fast-track assessment process that recognises the skills and knowledge a team already has on the job, in line with New Zealand’s broader approach to Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). The result is a formal, NZQA-recognised credential that strengthens a team’s professional credibility and supports their career progression.
