Galapagos cruising and beyond

Peru Andean Travel Company is seeing increasing interest out of Australasia for its boutique cruising in the Galapagos and customised experiences in Ecuador and Peru – a trend which encouraged the company to exhibit at Luxperience in Sydney for the first time this year.

The family operation also runs Oniric Safari Cruises, which operates five 16 passenger boats in the Galapagos Islands.

General manager Veronica Ordonez says the key to the offering is personalised service and tailor made itineraries for high end travellers.

‘All of our boats have two guides and a high crew to passenger ratio and all meals and excursions are included.’

She says groups can take sole use of a boat or combine more than one vessel, while Oniric also caters for individual travellers, couples and families.

‘We can manage all the details for the agent,’ Ordonez says. ‘We recommend at least seven days in the Galapagos but if clients have a specific interest we can obviously extend that. We can also combine land touring to the programme.’

She says Ecuador is perfect for clients seeking multiple experiences. ‘It is a small country with enormous biodiversity, from mountains to jungles and beaches as well as historic cities and an indigenous community.’
