The independently owned and operated hotel has also seen recent developments of its own, including the opening of a four-bedroom penthouse late last year. It’s main restaurant has also had a transformation over the last couple of years and is now Firma Italian.
‘The Southbank Corporation has put a lot of effort into improving the precinct, including a local guides campaign with discounts, prizes and activations,’ says Button.
She adds that the opening of the Glasshouse Theatre in the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) has also given the neighbourhood a boost, as have new bridges across the Brisbane River joining Southbank with the CBD.
The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.
