Experiencing Vivid Sydney was one of the highlights for seven Aussie Specialist agents who recently returned from a famil hosted by Destination New South Wales and VisitCanberra, in partnership with Tourism Australia. Air New Zealand supported the trip as airline partner.

Flying on NZ’s Auckland-Sydney service, the group landed early to maximise time in Sydney. First stop was a behind the scenes tour of the new Western Sydney International Airport.

New South Wales attractions/tours included a Captain Cook Cruises Vivid Sydney Sunset Dinner Cruise, private tour of the Art Gallery of NSW, lunch at the Me-Gal restaurant at Wildlife Retreat at Taronga Zoo, meeting with Sydney Kayak Experience, dinner at Midden by Mark Olive and the 6.5km Vivid Sydney Light Walk from the Sydney Opera House to Darling Harbour.

Before the road trip from Sydney to Canberra, agents explored Sydney Fish Market followed by a stop enroute at the Mittagong Mushroom Tunnel Tour and Gin Blending Masterclass at Millsheds Distillery, and dinner at Eschalot Restaurant.

Canberra highlights included a She Shapes History walking tour, followed by Art of Portraiture Tour at the National Portrait Gallery, Australian War Memorial private tour and Last Post Ceremony, and sunset views at Mount Ainslie Lookout. There was also a Best of Parliament Tour at Australian Parliament House, truffle hunt and farm tour at Beltana Farm, wine tasting and kangaroo spotting at Mount Majura Vineyard, plus meals at eightySix, Lazy Su, and Lager House by Capital Brewing Co., and a tilemaking workshop at Canberra Glassworks.

Accommodation in NSW was at the ParkRoyal Sydney Darling Harbour,  and The Gibraltar Bowral, followed by the Midnight Hotel in Canberra. The trip also included site inspections at Crown Towers Sydney, 25hours Hotel Sydney The Olympia, and the Realm Precinct in Canberra.
