Experience Gold Coast hosted a successful roadshow event last week that brought together 12 tourism businesses and airport staff, and attracted over 100 travel industry professionals.

Despite the challenges posed by ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred just a week earlier, the event went ahead as planned, showcasing the resilience and commitment of the Gold Coast tourism sector. The roadshow served as a valuable platform to share exciting updates about the destination, including new offerings from local theme parks, hotels and attractions. Attendees were provided with first-hand insights into the Gold Coast’s latest developments, making it an essential event for travel agents, tour operators and other industry players.

The event not only highlighted new experiences and services available on the Gold Coast, but also focused on the upcoming launch of Jetstar’s direct flights from Hamilton and Dunedin, three times weekly, set to commence in June. This new route promises to boost travel between the Gold Coast and New Zealand, opening up further opportunities from both of these regions into the Gold Coast. With strong collaboration from local businesses and airport staff, the event reinforced the Gold Coast’s position as a must-visit destination for Kiwi travellers.

A major prize to the Gold Coast for two adults was given away at each event, including seven nights accommodation, return Jetstar flights and a range of Gold Coast tours, and admission to local attractions.

Agents were also reminded to sell their way to the Gold Coast – with a Gold Coast four-night trade famil promotion currently running through to 30 April for 20 agents departing from Hamilton and Dunedin in July.  To qualify, agents need to sell a Jetstar ticket from Hamilton (HLZ) to the Gold Coast (OOL), or Dunedin (DUD) to the Gold Coast (OOL). There is one entry per PNR but multiple entries are permitted.
