KTO appoints Walshe Group

The Walshe Group has been appointed as Korea Tourism Organization’s (KTO’s) destination representative in New Zealand.

The Walshe Group, in partnership with KTO, will be responsible for enhancing the awareness of South Korea as a tourist destination to continue to grow New Zealand arrivals. This will include working closely with travel trade, media and relevant partners to increase both the promotion and product offerings of South Korea.

Branch director of KTO, Hyeongjoon Kim says the increase of direct flights to South Korea will open up more opportunities for Kiwis to travel to the destination.

‘We have hosted a few events in New Zealand before, but with this partnership, the trade industry can anticipate more activities in 2024.’

The Walshe Group is Australasia’s longest standing tourism representation company having been established in New Zealand in 1976.

‘South Korea is a perfect destination to explore with rich history and heritage, outdoors and nature, a modern K culture and global identity and welcoming people and culture,’ says Jacqui Walshe, executive chair of The Walshe Group.

The Walshe Group has appointed Jacqui Kim, originally from South Korea, in the role of tourism sales and marketing executive.
