From a 30km circuit of Sun Moon Lake, riders continue through the Nantou Valley and rural communities before entering Taiwan’s tea-growing hills and descending the famous 36 Bends – an 11.8km road featuring 36 numbered hairpin turns.
The itinerary also explores Tainan, Taiwan’s historic former capital, before continuing south through rural valleys and hot springs to the Pacific coast.
Daily rides generally range from 30km to 66km. The moderate / grade 5 itinerary incorporates undulating terrain, and is best suited to confident cyclists with a good level of fitness.
An expert bilingual cycling guide accompanies the group, with a bike mechanic and support vehicle on cycling days. A 24-speed GIANT bike is included, while e-bikes are available on request.
The inaugural departure is on 16 November 2026, followed by selected departures from March to November 2027.
