The new regulation is another step in Vietnam’s efforts to modernise border control procedures while strengthening disease prevention measures amid growing international travel demand.
Travellers may submit the declaration electronically or via paper forms. Authorities may also request additional health screening measures during periods of infectious disease concerns.
The declaration form must be submitted within seven days of entering, exiting, or transiting through Vietnam.
Proof of vaccination or other preventive measures may be requested at the border so agents should advise clients to have these readily accessible.
‘We are awaiting more clarity on proof of vaccination and health declaration form from the Vietnamese Ministry of Health. Once we get the information from them, we will keep you updated,’ says Exotic.
