The participants included New Zealand trade partners looking to develop more opportunities and products for travel agents to book their clients to Korea.
The group was led by Darragh Walshe from The Walshe Group, the New Zealand representative for KTO. This was his first visit to Korea and the destination made a positive impact.
‘Korea is such a vibrant country with a blend of ancient heritage alongside the modern sophistication and globally famous K-culture. These rich experiences are extremely accessible for the visitor – both in the cities and stunning countryside. The people are hospitable, transportation is easy and English is blended conveniently for the visitor who can’t help but feel safe and welcome. Oh, and did I mention the food?’ says Walshe.
All participants rated their experience of South Korea at the top of the scale. When asked to name their individual highlights the replies reflecting the diversity of the destination and suitability for a range of interests.
The itinerary included the capital Seoul, the port city of Busan and the historically significant Gyeongju, which hosted the recent APEC leaders gathering.
Walshe adds that the itinerary showcased how easy it is to experience both city and countryside with 75% of the country being mountainous.
The timing of the fam earlier this month coincided with autumn colours.
