Uruguay opens with no tests

World Journeys reports Covid testing is no longer required for entry to Uruguay, providing visitors are fully vaccinated.

‘This is great news for travellers looking to travel to South America and include several countries in their itinerary, which is the current trend,’ says director and South America specialist Chris Lyons.

‘Uruguay is not only a popular add-on to itineraries in neighbouring Argentina, it is a destination in its own right with its rural estancias, scenic wine-growing regions and colonial towns. It’s actually a real foodie destination too,’ he adds.

World Journeys’ nine-day Uruguay in Style itinerary is priced from $8,060 per person share twin, visiting the UNESCO World Heritage listed ‘old town’ of Colonia de Sacramento, several wine tasting experiences, a walking tour of Montevideo, a stay on a working estancia (ranch) and a cooking class in the beachside town of Punta del Este, with boutique accommodation throughout.
