Paolo Jarrin, sales manager of Hotel Indigo Galapagos says she is trying to dispel the perception that cruising is the only way to experience e the region.
Exhibiting at WTM (World Travel Market) London this week, Jarrin says the hotel is just five minutes from an airport and guests can access itineraries such as the popular Tour 360 that takes in the main sights of San Cristobel Island in a day.
Clients explore the island by boat, swim in Rosa Blanca, relax at Bahia Sardina and snorkel at Kicker Rock (Leon Dormido) with sharks, rays, sea turtles and other marine life.
‘After that there are a lot of other activities people can take part in, such as paddleboarding with sea lions or walking scenic trails, and they can also relax at the hotel. All of our 35 rooms have balconies and though most are twin share they are queen-sized beds. We also have a restaurant and spa that are open to non-guests.’
She says it is easy to combine a two or three-night stay with an island hopping tour of six nights or more.
