The seasonal service will operate three times a week between 1 November 2026 and 27 March 2027, increasing to five weekly flights from December through February to meet strong seasonal demand.
Christchurch Airport chief executive Justin Watson says the increased schedule reflects the continued strength of the South Island market.
‘Cathay Pacific has been a Christchurch Airport partner since 2017, and this increase is another vote of confidence in our region.’
Gordon Bevan, Christchurch Airport’s general manager aeronautical development, says adding another 13 return services and around 7000 extra seats strengthens CHC’s link into Hong Kong and Cathay’s global network. ‘We’ve seen demand for international travel continue to build and with Cathay’s joint venture with Air New Zealand, these extra flights make it even easier for people to get where they want to go.’
Cathay Pacific regional general manager, Southeast Asia & Oceania Aldric Chau says the expansion is in response to sustained customer demand.
