World Journeys recommends the rising star region of southern Tanzania for clients concerned about how busy the most popular safari spots in Africa are becoming.

Ruaha and Nyerere National Parks in particular are increasingly attractive alternatives to the traditional northern circuit, as recent Government investment has upgraded access by road and airstrips.

World Journeys Africa expert Tony O’Callaghan says the beauty of southern Tanzania is that it offers a more remote and exclusive safari experience, and the wildlife is incredible.

‘For example, Ruaha National Park is reportedly home to 10% of the world’s entire population of lions, along with the endangered African wild dog, and nearly every sighting is yours alone, to enjoy at your leisure.’

World Journeys’ eight-day Nyerere and Ruaha itinerary is priced from $15,710 per person share twin,  including private airport meet and greet and transfers in Dar es Salaam; all transport including flights Dar es Salaam > Selous > Ruaha > Dar es Salaam; seven nights’ accommodation; all meals and house beverages while on safari; all safari activities; and National Park and conservancy fees.
