Following the acquisition of the Wild Frontiers, a Uganda properties and activities business, and Tulia Amboseli Safari Camp in Kenya, the brand now has a four-property portfolio.
Tulia focuses on access to East Africa including gorilla trekking in Bwindi, shoebill excursions, and hot air ballooning near Mt. Kilimanjaro; as well as sustainability efforts.
A standout is Amboseli’s E3 Sisterherd Initiative, where a dedicated onsite workshop empowers Maasai women to sew and sell reusable sanitary pad kits.
Tulia offers a multi-country loop across Kenya and Uganda. The brand’s footprint will expand further with a planned Maasai Mara property acquisition in 2027.
The portfolio expansion also aligns with a shift in trade booking behaviour as Uganda evolves from an ‘add-on’ primate extension into a standalone destination.
Leanne Haigh, managing director of Tulia & Lemala Camps, says a traveller’s budget stretches significantly further in Uganda. ‘When you combine primate trekking with tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and game viewing in Murchison Falls, Uganda delivers a complete, price-competitive safari in its own right.’
Rates start at US$255 per night for two people.
