With the rugby drawing large visitor numbers and overlapping with peak safari season, availability across South Africa — and Kruger in particular — is limited.
The first safari, running 16-20 August, has already sold out. Spaces are still available on the second departure from 23-27 August, and Viva says more space may be added if demand continues.
The five-day Johannesburg return tour is priced from $1,935 per person (sharing), including four nights’ lodge accommodation, daily meals, tour managers, park entry fees, transport in a specialised expedition vehicle, and game drives on both a private reserve and inside Kruger National Park. Guests will also explore the Panorama Route, with stops such as Blyde River Canyon and God’s Window.
Tanya Gurtin, Viva’s Africa product manager, says agents should move quickly. ‘’The rugby is adding another surge of demand on top of peak season, so we’re encouraging agents to get in touch with us as soon as they can.’
