The new Grand Egyptian Museum’s (GEM’s) official opening of the final two galleries for boy King Tutankhamun and the Solar Boat will occur on 1 November.
The GEM launch guest list includes international leaders and royal family members. With the opening streamed live around the world, pent-up demand for Egyptian holidays will accelerate, so early bookings are essential, Galloway adds.
‘The museum is inspirational. From the moment visitors enter the soaring atrium, dominated by the monumental statue of Ramses II, the sense of history is overwhelming. The Grand Staircase stretching to the top of the museum combines four periods of Egyptian history. At the top is a spectacular view over the Pyramids, with the Ramses Gallery to the right.’
Galloway says with the opening of the GEM, all Innovative Travel programmes include a full day of sightseeing, incorporating the Pyramids, Sphinx, and an afternoon GEM visit. For those clients who prefer to spend a day at the GEM, programmes can easily be adjusted.
The company offers 18 itinerary options, but clients can also design their own holiday. Extensions to Jordan, Türkiye or other nearby locations can be arranged.
