Running HoT for a Passport to Party

House of Travel Group had a high-energy awards ceremony over the weekend, following a record-breaking year. More than 645 attendees from House of Travel retail stores, Orbit World Travel, HoT HQ team and key suppliers got together at the Passport to Party conference in the Viaduct Events Centre in Auckland.

HOT retail director Jayne Alldred says the last House of Travel Group all staff conference with awards took place in 2019.  ‘After a three-year hiatus, the awards have made a comeback. The day was about celebrating our people, our business and reconnecting as a group.’

The conference kicked off with a dance performance by the group Les Follies, followed by guest speakers Kura Forrester and Ruby Tui. The MCs for the day were Hilary Barry and Jeremy Corbett. The conference saw the unveiling of the new House of Travel logo and font, part of a wider brand refresh coming soon.

Major awards winners included: HoT Consultant of the Year: Belinda Fifield, House of Travel Christchurch City; Overall HoT Store of the Year: House of Travel Johnsonville; HoT Rookie of the Year: Liz RobMarkham, House of Travel Ponsonby Road; HoT Top Small, Medium and Large Size Store: Smal – Barrington, Medium – Broadway, Large – Johnsonville; HoT HQ Hottie of the Year: Scott Shearman, HoT IT; Contribution to Business Partnership: Lisa Shorney, HoT IT.

The conference was supported by preferred partner suppliers including Air New Zealand, Amadeus, Allianz, Carnival Cruise Lines, Globus family of brands, Scenic Luxury Cruise Lines & Tours, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Oceania Cruise Lines, Qantas, Singapore Airlines and TTC Group.
