Airline Sales Support Consultant, Air Niugini (The Walshe Group)
Auckland NZ - Full time
The Walshe Group is General Sales Agent (GSA) in New Zealand for Air Niugini, who will commence online service to New Zealand later this year. We are looking to appoint a Sales Support Consultant, with attention to detail &previous airline sales experience, dedicated to the Air Niugini account.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing exceptional customer service and support to travel agents and direct customers
- Processing booking inquiries, ticket sales, and reservation changes in a timely and efficient manner
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of Air Niugini products, services, and policies
- Collaborating with the sales team to support new sales initiatives
- Providing support to travel agents as required, including assistance quoting airfares and handling group bookings
Skills and experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a customer service or sales support role, preferably within the airline or travel industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
- Proficient in using Airline reservation systems and computer software, with strong attention to detail. Previous experience using SABRE an advantage.
- Knowledgeable about airline products & policies, services, and industry regulations.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands

We are looking to appoint a dynamic Sales & Marketing Manager with previous airline sales experience dedicated to the Air Niugini account.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing strategy to maximise revenue opportunities for Air Niugini across the travel trade, corporate accounts, MICE sector, and other emerging niche markets
- Data and revenue analysis through the use of various reporting tools
- Deliver a professional and informative sales message
- Negotiation of contractual agreements with key trade and corporate partners
- Coordinate and participate in industry events, expos and activities
Skills and experience
- Minimum of two years' field sales experience, preferably within the airline industry.
- First-hand knowledge of the travel trade sector and distribution in NZ

- A valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to meet clients and agents
