Avalon ship to debut on Douro
Avalon Waterways will make its Douro debut with a new itinerary and Suite Ship – the Avalon Alegria – in 2024.
The new, eight-day cruise begins and ends in Porto and includes Avalon’s Signature, Classic, Discovery and Active excursion choices.
European Sojourn on special
Viking’s 23-day European Sojourn, from Bucharest to Amsterdam or vv is on sale and priced from A$9,995 per person twin share cruise-only on selected departures for new bookings made between 5 August and 31 October 2022.
The itinerary visits eight countries in Western, Central and Eastern Europe while cruising the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers. Highlights include Budapest, Vienna and Bulgaria.

Viking has released its 2023-2024 River Cruises brochure with over 240 pages of itineraries and experiences exploring destinations from Central Europe to Egypt, Asia and the USA. The brochure features four new European river cruise itineraries that visit Europe during the festive season.
Viking's Europe rivers special
Viking has released limited-time offers on its three most popular Europe river journey.
The reduced cruise-only fares are available for selected departures between May and November 2022, meaning clients can travel for 15 days from A$3,995 per person, or A$266 per person per day.
Full Europe season for Scenic
Scenic has commenced the 2022 Europe river cruising season with its eight-day Rhine Highlights itinerary – marking the return to a full Europe river cruise programme.
After operating sailings in the Bordeaux region, as well as on the Douro and Rhine rivers, in 2021, this year will see Scenic welcome back guests from Australia and New Zealand, for the first time since 2019.
