Blue Lagoon Cruises caters to a number of markets and has a range of specials on offer
Blue Lagoon Cruises, Fiji Islands is known for its excursions into one of the most beautiful areas in the Pacific - the Yasawa Islands. However, the company also adds to the appeal of its offering by coming up with innovative packages, combinations and pricing for a range of different markets and experiences.
Just released by Blue Lagoon is an earlybird special which offers 20% off all cruises, plus a free cabin upgrade. The special is for sales to November 30 and for travel to June 30 2009 and there are no close out dates. The price for a three day, two night Club Cruise starts from NZ$545 per person.
Blue Lagoon is also offering a 30% discount on all bookings made before October 31 (agents and clients will need to be quick) on its final Historical and Cultural Dateline Cruise for 2008, now scheduled to begin on November 10. The seven day, six night Gold Club standard cruise offers an opportunity to visit the largely uncharted reaches comprising Fiji’s remote north-eastern tip, which rarely receives visits from the outside world. The cruise will represent only the seventh time that a commercial vessel has visited parts of the region in the last two years. The area is the only place that visitors can see all three of the Pacific Ocean’s distinct cultural groupings - Melanesian, Micronesian and Polynesian - living together.
Refurbishment
In other news from Blue Lagoon, the company has finished a $300,000 refurbishment for both of its Gold Club cruise vessels, the flagship MV Fiji Princess and MV Mystique Princess.
New in-cabin features on both vessels include flat screen televisions, soft furnishings and bedding, a feature of which is the acclaimed Australian made Dream Angel sprung pillows.
Exterior fittings include new teak deck furniture, shade cloth on the MV Fiji Princess’ sun deck and MV Mystique Princess’ sky deck, new carpeting throughout both vessels and exercise bikes for the more energetically minded.
Melanie Secker, sales manager New Zealand for Blue Lagoon Cruises, says the refurbishment not only adds to the appeal for leisure customers but also enhances the experience for corporate meeting and incentive clients.
‘At Blue Lagoon we can provide the perfect mix of business and relaxation for corporate events. These developments on the Gold Club cruise vessels will certainly enhance that.’
Fiji combo
Blue Lagoon Cruises has also joined with Sonaisali Island Resort to offer a special island escape - a four night resort stay combined with a four or seven day Gold Club Yasawa Islands cruise. It is priced from NZ$2549 per person twin share and, as usual, the Blue Lagoon Cruises component of the combination includes all meals, onboard accommodation, cruise and cultural activities and shore excursions. As an added bonus, passengers will qualify for a free cabin upgrade and complimentary bottle of champagne. The overall value of the offer has been increased by Sonaisali Island Resort including free daily American breakfast, a welcome cocktail, a free jungle cruise, a free SCUBA ‘pool splash’ and an invitation to the general manager’s weekly cocktail party.
The Sonaisali Island Resort stay can be taken on a pre or post cruise basis and even split to provide passengers with the option of staying at the resort before and after their cruise.
The offer is valid for travel from now until March 31 2010.
PAICE
Blue Lagoon Cruises had a lot of interest from quality buyers at the Pacific Area Incentives & Conferences Expo (PAICE) in August. Secker says Fiji is definitely at the forefront again for many people’s C&I plans in 2009/10. ‘Blue Lagoon has been busy quoting and converting great business post PAICE which will ensure our return to the event in ‘09. Remember Blue Lagoon’s PAICE special - any Blue Lagoon Charter booked between now and March 31 2010 will receive a free cruise* for the booker and his or her partner.’ (*free cruise can be taken after full payment of charter*)
