A selection of 56 self catering properties and holiday homes in Rarotonga and Aitutaki, as well as hotels and resorts, are among the features of a new 36 page online brochure that focuses on the Cook Islands.

Released by Discover Cook Islands, a division of the Turama Pacific Travel Group, the brochure also has sample five and seven night stays in the destination. Rates are public and commissionable to bona fide travel agencies at 12%. Pricing is valid through to 31 March 2021 and the company will produce a further version for the next rate year.

Robert Skews, managing director of Turama Pacific, says that as a result of Covid-19 travellers to the Cook Islands may me looking to stay in private holiday homes where they are in their own bubble.

‘We believe also that travellers will be expecting that extra bit of safety and security for their travel. As a company based in the Cooks for 30 years, we are more than capable of providing that level of service.

‘Our Raro Tours transport company can provide private transfers and our buses will operate at 60% capacity to allow for social distancing. Hand sanitiser and optional face masks will be available in al our vehicles. Luggage is carried in baggage trailers or in screened areas in our vans.’

Skews pints out that the Cook islands has developed the Cook islands promise, which is a joint commitments between residents and visitors to protect everyone with sensible and practical procedures.

‘We have also developed a voluntary CookSafe tracing app -visitors receive a unique QR code that allows them to scan in and out at participating principals on Rarotonga – that can be downloaded for contact tracing.

‘We will send agents a link for their customers with their booking confirmation. This system has high protocols for data protection and is designed to delete the data after 60 days.’
