Rachel Mackey, marketing manager New Zealand for Cook Islands Tourism Corporation, says that although the Cooks don’t have any major new hotels or infrastructure coming on line there are plenty of refurbishments, added experiences and holiday houses for agents to catch up on. Among other developments, Antipodes Rarotonga is a new property with a two bedroom cliff top pool suite, Muri Beach Club has a complimentary 10-minute introductory spa offer for all guests in deluxe beachfront accommodation (and a one-hour cocktail offer for all guests from 3pm to 4pm), and Sunset Resort has opened its Bird Cage Bar. Before the agents’ function at the Hilton there was a two-hour session for the meetings, incentive, conference and events (MICE) sector.
