Talking Queenstown

The need to keep the visitor experience authentic and welcoming plus a desire to continue the focus on building shoulder seasons were among the discussion points at Skal International Queenstown panel session last week.

The discussion topic was The Queenstown Visitor Mix in 10 Years’ Time, and the panelists talking to the topic were Tim Hunter, CEO Southern Discoveries; Colin Keel, CEO of Queenstown Airport Corporation; Penny Clark, director of Upstairs 4 Hospitality and Queenstown Lakes District Council. They were facilitated by former Radio New Zealand journalist Steve Wilde, who has been living in Queenstown for 20 years. The event was sponsored by Southern Discoveries and hosted by the QT Hotel.

The panel discussion is part of a strategy by Skal International Queenstown to add variety to its functions. The Club is also in a membership growth phase. Last week at least four of the invited industry guests signed up to become members of the club.
