Agents are finding that for the right clients it’s an easy sell (for both first timers and repeats), says Thomas Gentz, business development manager New Zealand. Gentz has been in the role for a matter of weeks and has quickly hit his stride visiting agents and attending consumer expos around the country. Much emphasis is currently on the 2019 UK & Europe brochure, which has 44 tours – 34 of them currently with 10% discounts as an earlybird offer.
The most popular tour is Corners of Cornwall, a seven-day, six-night programme that takes guests to centres such as Dartmoor, Falmouth, Hawkchurch and Fowey. Highlights include lunch at Rick Stein’s signature The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, getting the inside story at Tregothnan Estate (Cornwall’s largest estate) on a private guided tour, and having a two night stay in the historic port town of Falmouth.
Gentz says he is also receiving a lot of positive feedback about Croatian Islands sailing. Guests take part in an olive oil tasting session in Solta, sample local wine and have a tapas lunch at the famous Bibich winery, and explore the lesser known areas of the Dalmatian Coast. The itinerary can easily be combined with the Croatia and Dalmatian Coast tour.
Back-Roads incentive: Four $500 prizes
Back-Roads Touring has four $500 prizes up for grabs for agents who sell new bookings between 3 September and 30 November 2018. One booking equals one entry into a random draw, so the more an agent sells the greater their chance to win.
