Cruising Japan in bloom

With Japan’s cherry blossom season approaching in March and April, travellers keen to discover the country’s mix of ancient sites and modern cities can book a spot aboard Norwegian Jewel.

Guests can choose from three never before offered immersive itineraries, spanning from 11 to 15 days, with the chance to stroll through the cherry blossoms in full bloom.

‘Widely celebrated in Japanese literature, poetry and art, experiencing Japan’s cherry blossom, or ‘sakura’ season first-hand is a real bucket list moment for seasoned and first-time travellers alike and we’re excited to be offering guests an opportunity to experience this for the first time with Norwegian Cruise Line,’ says Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings senior vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific, Steve Odell.

For a limited time, guests can choose up to five free inclusions including a free beverage package, free specialty dining package, free shore excursion credit, free wifi package or having their friends or family sail at a reduced rate, as well as reduced deposits and up to US$500 to spend on board.

Sailings timed to make the most of cherry blossom season and beyond include an 11-day itinerary departing from Hong Kong on 21 March 2018, visiting Chinese ports Xiamen, Shanghai and Beijing, as well as Hakata, Kobe, and Shimizu in Japan – home to cherry blossom heaven in Shimizu Park – and disembarking in Tokyo.

Additional cherry blossom sailing departures include 1 and 16 April.
