Corroboree West gives Kiwi Aussie Specialists, along with frontline agents from the UK, Europe, the USA and Canada, the opportunity to meet with more than 100 Australian tourism operators to find out the latest news on the destination’s travel experiences. With the Aussie Specialist Program re-launched in New Zealand last year, the timing of Corroboree West is perfect for agents to get involved in the event’s training workshops and familiarisations. ‘Australia has long been a popular destination for travellers from New Zealand, with 1.4 million Kiwi travellers visiting in the past year, and 93% of these are repeat visitors,’ Tourism Australia managing director John O’Sullivan says. ‘Our network of Aussie Specialist agents are at the frontline in connecting Kiwi travellers with new travel experiences across Australia to ensure they continue to visit and re-visit our country in the future.’
The Corroboree opportunity is open to just 14 Kiwi Aussie Specialists. The event in Perth will also give agents the chance to experience the city’s transformation in recent years with an expanding range of infrastructure and experiences, including Optus Stadium, Elizabeth Quay, Yagan Square, new and refurbished hotels and the expanding bar and restaurant scene. Following the workshop and networking events in Perth, Aussie Specialists will break up into groups to attend a six-day, five-night familiarisation trip around the country hosted by Australia’s state and territory tourism organisations.
Agents must be qualified Aussie Specialists to be eligible and available to travel from 7 to 17 October. A participation fee applies of A$299 including flights. Kiwi agents interested in attending Corroboree West are encouraged to apply via www.aussiespecialist.com/cw19nz by Friday 17 May.
