Aussie Specialist Ambassador

Stacey Leitch from House of Travel Kapiti Coast has been chosen as New Zealand’s first Aussie Specialist Ambassador by Tourism Australia, Australia’s states and territories and Qantas.
Leitch will join a tailor-made trip to Australia to share Aussie experiences with her fellow Kiwi agents.
Penny Hayes at House of Travel Lakers in Invercargill will take home a GoPro to capture any future personal trips, as the programme’s runner up.

Tourism Australia’s managing director John O’Sullivan says frontline travel agents are a critical part of the travel distribution system and the Aussie Specialist Ambassador will create peer-to-peer advocacy amongst agents throughout New Zealand.
‘Our Aussie Specialist Ambassadors globally will come to Australia, experience our world-class tourism products and share their enthusiasm and insights with other travel agents in their home market.’
‘We hope content created by the ambassadors will help other Aussie Specialists improve their product knowledge, encourage more agents to sign up to the programme and ultimately help more people book fantastic Australian holidays.’
The winners will travel to Australia in March and explore various parts of the country, while a light-touch camera crew will record their experiences.
Nadine Stewart, Tourism Australia’s Global Aussie Specialist Program manager, says the competition was a great success with an increase in agents becoming qualified Aussie Specialists during the campaign period,
and a spike in engagement with Aussie Specialist content.
‘By becoming a member of the Aussie Specialist Program agents gain access to bespoke training modules and sales resources, travel offers from Australian operators, invitations to attend exclusive Australia events and regular product updates and training webinars,’ Nadine said.
The Aussie Specialist Ambassador Program competition invited New Zealand travel agents to submit a video pitch to join a famil in Australia and share the experience with other international travel agents.
