Kiwis to SA on the up

Kiwi numbers to South Australia have hit a record with 43,000 visiting the state as at March 2018 year-end.

Regional manager New Zealand for South Australian Tourism Commission, Stacey Kerr, says this is a 16% increase on the previous year. ‘And our room nights are up 10%, spend up 9%.’ Helped by a 26% increase in air capacity with Air New Zealand’s Dreamliner service during the April to October period, growth is expected to jump further when the airline commences a full Dreamliner service from October 2019. Air New Zealand’s regional general manager NZPI sales, Leanne Geraghty, says the airline carries 55% of all Kiwis who travel to Adelaide, ‘either direct or through other ports.’ Kerr and Geraghty were at the South Australia trade event at Ponsonby restaurant, Mr Toms on Friday.
