Canada ‘on the rise’ for 2021

National Geographic’s Destinations On The Rise For 2021, notes that while the pandemic has brought global journeys to a standstill, travellers’ curiosity is still evident.

Canada is recognised in two of the report’s categories.

In the Family Journeys category, learning about indigenous culture in British Columbia’s Vancouver and Vancouver Island are noted, with emphasis on a guided forest ramble with Talaysay

Tours in Stanley Park.  British Columbia is Canada’s gateway province for Australian and New Zealand travellers and home to more than 200 distinct First Nations.

Canada’s sub arctic township of Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories, was recognised as an adventure for viewing the Northern Lights. On the banks of the Great Slave Lake, Yellowknife is highlighted as a land to find peace and solace, to reconnect and heal under the aurora. Here the Northern Lights shine 240 nights a year.

National Geographic endorsement is based on destinations representing resilient communities, conservation success stories, and opportunities for post-pandemic explorations.
