To enter the competition agents need to complete the SA Specialist online training course, and in the spirit of Nelson Mandela’s Centenary, tell South African Tourism in 30 words or less which Mandela-inspired tourist attraction they would visit and why. The winners will stay at Taj Hotel in Cape Town, head to the Cape Winelands, cycle through a local township and have a home cooked meal. Other highlights include a boat trip out to Robben Island, viewing African Penguins and a night bar hopping through Cape Town’s famous haunts. Grootbos Private Nature Reserve and adventure activities including horseback riding and Great White Shark cage diving (for the brave) are among the activities.
The group will experience Lion Sands Private Game Reserve in the Sabi Sands. Later agents will visit Mandela’s home in Soweto and discover Joburg’s urban precinct, Maboneng, on a street art walking tour. This prize includes international/domestic flights and taxes, accommodation, meals and activities. There is no participation fee. Agents who have already completed the SA Specialist Essentials course can complete one elective Experiences module to participate in the competition. Those who have completed both the Basic and Experiences courses, only need to answer the Mandela question to participate. Competition closes as of midnight 15 November 2018.
