Speaking during preparations for the upcoming DMS Annual Workshops in Sydney and Melbourne on February 16 and 20, managing director of Destination Marketing Services Leila Fiedler said that 'new and creative' was the constant request from professional conference organisers and incentive agents.
'The industry is facing one of the fiercest trading environments on record and there is now intense pressure on destination management companies to deliver innovation,' says Fiedler.
'The corporate end users are really pushing for an edge and often they will tender the brief out to multiple event planning companies as a means of trawling for the best ideas. As a result our destination management companies (DMCs) are responding with extremely creative proposals, new and different destinations and more and more high end inclusions and CSR activities.'
Fiedler says that the 18 DMCs participating in this year’s workshops would be featuring significantly expanded programmes including new event spaces, event concepts, offsite touring options and team building activities.
The DMS Workshops are dovetailing with AIME allowing Australian and New Zealand clients the opportunity to meet with international DMCs in a free flowing format in the easy comfort of one room. Regions being represented include Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and North America.
DMS celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and a special luncheon will be a feature of the workshops. Sponsors joining in the celebrations and offering fantastic door prizes are Emirates, South African Airways, Virgin Atlantic Airways, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific and Malaysia Airlines.
The DMS Annual Workshops are by invitation only. Industry wishing to register their interest should email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
